Was watching “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” few days back.. although it has many simple yet meaningful dialogues.. this one stuck with me for some time. I love Javed Akhtar’s free flowing shayaris in this movie so I once I start seeing it I end up watching till end.
“Back to reality, I was travelling in Metro with my friend today and saw a sick lady lying on the seat, condition looked bad, Her husband was there trying to comfort her, perhaps some sort of food poisoning. There was vomit on the floor hence that area was comparatively empty. As we entered our first reaction/step was to talk to that person and check where he is going and what happened. Other passengers were trying to assist by guessing what has happened and how much time it will take to reach the last station, where the couple had to get off. In the midst of everything, My friend “Pinto” let’s call him that here. started dialing emergency number and was able to reach Metro Helpline, told them whats going on and to send some medical help. To my surprise on very next station Metro official came with his walky-talkie and asked the couple to get down so that first aid/medical check up can be done. It felt good as we helped someone, more than me, It was Pinto who acted like a perfect citizen and human being at time of crisis. I said “That was very nice of you, and one good deed for the day by you” Well Done !!
I Hope lady felt better and couple reached home safely!!
Moral – If we stop blaming and act good things happen, it would have been easy to blame DMRC, that it’s helpline is not working and all, but one simple act of trying all helpline and informing officials was enough to trigger the rescue.
Moving back to my motive of login here, It’s been many months since I posted here. So time to bring all I have written on the table and press it : )
