Love Is Jihad; Killing Honourable?

From human slavery, untouchability, honour killing to love Jihad, we have come a long way. Haven’t we? Photo by Fabrizio Verrecchia on Unsplash

Aren’t we privileged and super lucky to witness such fantastic acts (literally) and laws being drafted and executed in our lifetime? My answer would be an emphatic “YES.” We live in a country where love is jihad and killing honourable. Not everyone gets a chance to be a part of history. Here we are witnessing one historic moment after another.

What Is Love-Jihad?

A conspiracy theory alleges that Muslim Men target women from Non-Muslim communities by pretending to be in love with them and eventually forcing them to convert to Islam. They make a fool of non-Muslim girls, who are legally sane enough to decide to get married, however also stupid enough to get easily fooled.

At least Wikipedia says so!

I think it’s a conspiracy by Wikipedia to tone down such a critical matter. From what we have seen in our country, Love Jihad is real. Although there is no legal definition of Love Jihad, and our central agencies have not been able to report such a case in the past two years. What a shame!

Finally Love Is Jihad – Government at Its Efficient Best

The Uttar Pradesh Government has taken the lead and implemented this much-needed law. Otherwise, how would innocent kids, who are otherwise sensible enough to vote and elect their political representatives, choose their partners without government agencies’ guidance?

We should appreciate the prompt action taken by our influential leaders. After all, we can’t blindly follow the western countries when it comes to independence in choosing partners. Trivial matters like giving farmers the freedom to sell their crops wherever they wish is something where we are matching the footsteps with the west. See how beautifully we are maintaining the balance of becoming a world leader and saving our culture and prestige.

The police are also doing a fantastic job; as soon as the law was implemented, they moved into action. It’s damn impressive how promptly they ensure that interfaith marriages don’t occur easily. What if both bride and groom, their parents, family, and relatives are ready. They can make faulty decisions. Someone has to keep an eye and guide them.

Media has been disappointing; it is demeaning highly commendable police actions. How else can you explain such a highly misleading headline  – ‘Love jihad’ rumour: Wedding stopped in UP, Muslim couple kept overnight at police station

The Patriarchy Angle

Our history and culture mean everything to us. Some so-called liberals and woke intellectuals are trying to tarnish real Jihad against illegal and immoral religious conversion by painting it as a patriarchal mindset. How can a woman decide her future? Why not apply the same logic for men? These are some stupid diversions, and we should not let them digress us.

We have seen this feminist card being played more than often. Even Lord Rama had asked Sita Mata to go for Agni Pariksha to prove her purity. We should not forget our tradition. When we don’t marry our girls in a different caste, allowing them to marry boys from another religion out of stupidity is out of the question.

If anyone thinks we are orthodox and against personal freedom, they should read the law; it gives ample time to concerned parties; they have to apply to the District Magistrate and cool off their minds. After that, if everything is clean, they can still proceed with the wedding.

That’s the problem with democracy. We can’t draft a full-fledged law to save our traditions, culture, and religion.  In the end, we have to give unnecessary liberty to innocent citizens. Hence we have to be cautious when we say that love is jihad and killing honourable.

Honour Killing Deserves Nothing But Respect

Definition of Honour Killing Noun, the killing of a relative, especially a girl or woman, who is perceived to have brought dishonour on the family.
To kill, is better than being dishonoured

We should not forget that people are sacrificing their children to save dignity or their family. If you do a google search of this brave, selfless act called “Honour Killing,” the definition specifies that “girls” are the real pride of our society, and we would rather kill them instead of letting them misled and bring shame.

Let’s not demean the great sacrifices made by these silent heroes in this country, which is plagued by too much democracy, and where facts are not facts. We should celebrate the count of honour killing cases. At least we have some excellent official numbers, unlike Love Jihad, where we scored a duck. We are hitting the century mark every year with consistency, equivalent to Rahul Dravid’s performance in test cricket.

By now, you must have sniffed the sarcasm. If not, you are a pure-hearted soul. In the end, let’s remove Jihad from Love and try to understand what it means.

What Does Jihad Actually Mean?

The Real meaning of Jihad – Huffpost ( Source – YouTube)

Jihad means “to struggle to become better.” Everyone is entitled to derive their meaning. However, in its real sense, it is not demonic as we think it is. It most likely that you don’t get a positive vibe or feeling when you hear the word. It’s like some stigma has permanently stuck with the word ‘Jihad’

Extremists have used this word to carry out insanity and justify it by attaching it to religion, killing the very essence of this otherwise spiritual act, personal and internal for every person. If I have to relate it, I will do it with acts like fasting or meditation.
